How to be happier with a gratitude journal?
There are moments in our lives when we tell ourselves:
“I wish so much that I could encapsulate my happiness!”
A few years ago, I read a book that I particularly recommend to you.
It is called “Happier”.
Tal Ben-Shahar, the author, is one of Harvard University's most popular professors.
Until recently, he taught positive psychology.

I read his book several years ago.
I loved it!
I immediately integrated a gratitude journal into my life. It is such a simple thing to do, and it does so much good.
The gratitude journal. How do you do it?
Pick a notebook that inspires you.
Personally, I use a Louise Carmen pocket leather notebook.

Its small size allows me to easily take it everywhere with me.
How do you keep a gratitude journal?
It is very easy to set up.
- write 3 to 5 things in your notebook that made you happy during the day.
- do this every evening before you fall asleep. It will only take a minute or two.
- for example, it could be the smell of strawberries while passing by your greengrocer’s stall, a movie you enjoyed, taking the time to bake an apple pie with your child, the smile of a stranger on public transport, a small gesture from your partner, a kiss from your child. All the little everyday things we don't pay attention to.
- if you feel like you are repeating yourself, that is not a problem. What is important is the corresponding emotion you retain from it.
- Do not hesitate to do this exercise with someone close to you.
Why keep this gratitude journal?
Noting down these little things that we mistakenly take for granted allows us to see the positive sides of our daily life.
We appreciate these little treasures that everyday life offers us.
Rereading your gratitude journals, even several years later, is also a true joy.
It makes you more optimistic, more generous towards others.
I started a gratitude journal several years ago.
Sometimes I stop for several months, and then I pick it back up right where I left off.
And you, do you have a gratitude journal?
